Lower Gastrointestinal Tract

The gastrointestinal (GI), or digestive tract is a procedure to tack the pictures of internal body organ or digestive trail through the passing a plastic tube, equipped with camera, light and ultrasound device if requires.

This insertion of plastic tube can be possible from two ways, one is through the mouth (Upper gastrointestinal tract or UGI) and another through the anus (Lower gastrointestinal tract or LGI). The Doctors decides the way of GI as per the requirement.

The GI facilitate doctors to track movement of muscles in the GI tract, along with the release of hormones and enzymes, allows for the digestion of food.

Complication with Lower GI:

Anatomic problems of the lower GI tract may involve parts of organs being in the wrong place, shaped abnormally, or incorrectly connected to other organs. Anatomic problems that affect the large intestine or anus include.
